Montie Glenn Williams, age 78, of Prescott, Arizona, passed away Friday, December 12 at Mountain View Manor.

Montie was born in Port Arthur, Texas on August 25, 1930 to James and Vivian Williams.

Montie served in the US Army Counter Intelligence Corp for three years. He received a BA in Psychology from California Baptist College at Riverside, Ca. He then worked for 23 years with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

After retiring, Montie taught courses in Hazard Materials Management for 12 years at the Citrus Community College in Glendora, Ca., as well as working with the US Attorney's Office as an investigator. He was an active member of Willow Hills Baptist Church. He was also an avid book and gun collector.

Montie is survived by his wife, Juanice, of 54 years; his son James R. Williams (Julie); his daughter Jennifer M. Murray (Greg); and three grandchildren: Allegra Murray, Ryan and Taylor Williams.

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, January 13th at 2pm at the Willow Hills First Southern Baptist Church, 1071 Mogollon Road, Prescott. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest that memorial donations be made to Common Ground, 236 S. Montezuma, Prescott, AZ 86303. The inscription that will be on his niche cover at the Prescott National Cemetery is a very apt summation of his life; "Gentle Giant who stood for God."
