Earl Richard Weaver expired May 28, 2006, and is resting with the Lord. He was a patient at the Bob Stump Veterans Medical Center, Prescott, Arizona.

Earl was born, March 8, 1930, in Vandalia, Ohio, the youngest son of Clayton C. and Wilma G. Nixon Weaver. Earl spent most of his life in the Casstown, Troy area. Earl graduated from Troy High School in 1948.

He retired from the United States Postal Service, Troy, Ohio, in 1987. He was a letter carrier for 37 years. Earl carried mail in the Westbrook area of Troy, Ohio, for many years.

Earl was a veteran of the Korean conflict serving more than three years in the Radio Communication Center, in charge of secret files at the Pentagon, Washington, D.C.

Earl married Virginia A Seegle on May 10, 1952. His survivors are his wife, Virginia; son, Clayton Weaver; three grandchildren, Melinda Weaver Farris, Valarie Lynn Weaver and Chet Bradley Weaver; two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Machenzi Hile, all from the Troy, Ohio, area; nephews, Ron (Carol) Weaver, Jim (Sheri) Weaver, Tim Weaver, Jim (Lynda) Seigle; sister-in-law, Jane Siegle, all from the Troy area; niece, Diana Dillworth from Celina, Ohio; one special cousin, Roger (Odessa) Bowers of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. Also, many great-nieces and great-nephews and friends of Prescott, Ariz., and Troy, Ohio, areas.

His parents, Clayton C. and Wilma G. Nixon Weaver; two brothers, John, Joseph Weaver and one sister, Ruth Weaver, preceded him.

Earl was a member of the First Baptist Church, Prescott, Arizona. He also attended the First Baptist Church of Troy, Ohio, many times.

Earl was active in a golfing group, architecture committee of Prescott Canyon Estates and barbershop singing with the High Mountain Chordsmen. He took great pride seeing the Ten Commandment Plaque was placed on the First Baptist Church, Smyth Building in Prescott.

Earl and Virginia moved to the Prescott area on October 1990. He is greatly missed by his devoted wife, son, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends in the Prescott, Arizona, and Troy, Ohio, areas.

In lieu of flowers, donate to the Prescott Salvation Army.

Memorial services are to be held at the First Baptist Church, 485 Marina Street, Prescott, Arizona, on June 10, 2006, at 11:30 a.m. Chaplain Jack Unangst and Pastor Dennis Beatty will conduct the services.

Arrangements entrusted to the Heritage Memory Mortuary, Prescott, Arizona. Inurnment will be at the Prescott National Cemetery.
