Linda June Emig, beloved friend, wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on July 7, 2010.
Linda June Gutierrez was born on May 20, 1937, to John Joseph and Eloisa Gutierrez in Montrose, Calif. Linda was a graduate of Glendale High School Class of 1957. Linda then went to Cosmetology school, and began a career as a beautician.
Linda met the love of her life, Richard, at Moonlight Skating Rink. Linda married Richard Emig on Feb. 18, 1961, in Los Angeles, Calif. First residing in Los Angeles, in 1964 the family settled down to a home in Cypress for the next 20 years. Linda was involved in her son and daughter's grammar school P.T.A. as well as being a den mother for her son's Cub Scout troop. During this time, Linda was also involved in the administration of the family business; R&E Services for over 40 years. In 1984, the family moved to Prescott, Ariz. Linda and Richard have been active members of Shepherd of the Hills, and devoted much of her time in church activities.
Linda's interest included 40s and the songs from the Great American Song Book. She was also interested in soap operas, including "As the World Turns" and "The Young and Restless."
Linda leaves behind a grieving family of her husband of 49 years, Richard Emig; two children, David Richard and Karen Ann Wesolek; and one grandchild, Bryan Wesolek.
The family would like to graciously thank Dr. Albert Wendt, Mountain View Manor and the hospice at Good Samaritan. Their care and compassion for Linda was something that was truly touching to us.
A memorial service will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 17, 2010, at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 1202 Green Lane, Prescott Ariz. Private internment will be at Prescott National Cemetery.
