John William "Bill" Dallas of Tuscola passed away at 10:14 p.m. Tuesday (Sept. 7, 2010) at home.
He was born on Jan. 16, 1929 in Wayne County, Il. to James Harrison "Harry" and Anna Elizabeth Troutt Dallas. He married Edna LaVerne Nofftz on April 2, 1952 in Sadorus. She preceded him in death on Dec. 18, 2009. He was also preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters.
He is survived by his children, Larry of Tuscola, Larayne (Tim DeFries) of Austin, Texas, Lyndall (Marsha) of Lincoln and David of Tuscola; five grandchildren, John Dallas, Kelsey Dallas, Christa DeFries, Natalie DeFries and Anna DeFries and a brother, Jim Dallas of Tuscola.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, where he served with Headquarters Company, 2nd Battalion, 9th Infantry, 2nd Division.
