Monday evening, June 29th, about 8 o'clock Mrs. George Leonhart of Kaw township went out to assist members of her family in milking the cows. She had just set down on a stool and commenced her portion of the work, when without a word or sign of pain, she fell from the stool a corpse. Heart failure was the cause.
Mrs. Leonhart came to Kansas 35 years ago with her husband and has always conducted herself in a manner that her friends were numbered by her acquaintances. She was the mother of eight children, five boys and three girls. The children and their father survive the deceased and were all present at the funeral with one exception.
The funeral services were held at the home of the deceased Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock by Rev. Webb of the M.E. church of this city, after which the remains were consigned to their final resting place in Greenwood cemetery. ---St. Mary's Journal
