Obituary: The Press-Dispatch, Thursday, 11 Feb 1971 - Mrs. Edith Myrtle Carr, 67, of Hartford, Kentucky formerly of Winslow died at 7:10 a.m. Sunday February 7 in the Lady of Mercy Hospitgal in Owensboro, Kentucky. She suffered a heart attack and entered the hospital in Hartford and was transferred from there to the hospital in Owensboro where she passeed away. Mrs. Carr had not been well for some time from heart trouble. Born April 7, 1903 in Littles a daughter of Frank "Boots" and Carrie Tyner Drew. She was married to Luther Carr who survives. Other survivors are, daughters, Mrs. Wayne {Arbutus) Eversall, south of Petersburg and Mrs. Thelma Matthews of Utica, Kentucky, a son, Edward G. Carr of Hartford, Kentucky, nine grandchildren, one great grandchild and two brothers, Lawrence Drew of Francisco and Artie Drew of Evansville. Mrs. Carr and her family moved to Hartford in 1945 from Winslow. She was a member of the Winslow General Baptist Church. Following funeral services officiated by R. K. Hulse at the Chad and Miller Funeral Home in Hartford at 10 a.m. Tuesdday her body was brought to Curtis Funeral Home in Winslow where services were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday by the Rev. O. B. Clark. Burial was in Walnut Hills Cemetery.
