Richard "Dickey", 80, died on May 24, 2008 at his home in Maine where he had lived for the past 20 years, and formerly of Burrillville, Rhode Island. He was born on October 27, 1927 in Pascoag, the son of the late Richard and Beatrice (Crepeau) Guthrie.
Richard was a Fishery Biologist for the University of Rhode Island, and also worked in Anchorage, Alaska, in the King Crab industry. He was a Army veteran of WWII. An avid outdoorsmen he enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a graduate of Burrillville High School and the University of Rhode Island.
He is survived by his brother Robert Guthrie of Norwich, Connecticut, his sister Elaine Moore of Pascoag, and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral service, including visitation, will be held Wednesday June 4, 2008 from 12 to 1pm at the Boucher Funeral Home, 272 Sayles Avenue, Pascoag (www.boucherfh.com).
Burial will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Burrillville.
