Romeo Godin, 95, of 188 Cottage St., a supervisor in the finishing department of the former Slatersville Finishing Co., North Smithfield, for 4 0years before retiring in 1949, died yesterday at home. He was the husband of the late Yvonne (Gauthier) Godin.

Born in St. Didace, Quebec, a son of the late Hermenegilde and Mathilda (Turcotte) Godin, he came to this country as a child and settled in Providence. He lived in Millville, Mass., for 40 years before moving to Woonsocket in 1963.

Mr. Godin was a World War I Army veteran, and a member of LeClair-Kozlik-Logan-Bassett Post 7243, VFW.

He leaves three sons, Romeo Godin Jr. of Falmouth, Mass., Roger Godin of Melbourne, Fla., and Paul Godin of Linwood, Mass.; three daughters, Doris Beauchemin, Pauline Jolicoeur and Evelyn Leduc, all of Woonsocket; 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 S. Main St., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 at St. Agatha Church, Joffre Avenue. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, North Smithfield.
