George Aaron Saffels was the son of George Anderson and Sarah Jane (Jennie) Chandler Saffels.

He is survived by his wife, son and daughter and several grandchildren.

He married on 21 Dec 1946, in Gallant, Etowah Co, AL.

He was a Corporal in the Army Air Force in WWII and served as a radio operator/technician for the B-17 whose plane was shot down and he was injured in the line of duty.

He also served as Principal of Ivalee School at Ivalee in Etowah Co, AL between about 1949 to 1980.
