LEWISTOWN — Valda Freed Albright, 88, a resident of the Ohesson Manor, Lewistown, and formerly of Decatur Township, died at 4:10 a.m= Thursday, June 5, 2008, at the Lewistown Hospital.Born April 3, 1920, in Tyrone, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Anna (Christofic) Treaster.She was preceded in death by her first husband, James L. Freed in 1976, and her second husband, Orvil Albright, in 1998.She is survived by five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. She raised three grandchildren, George Freed, of Mount Union, Brenda Wileman, of Lewistown, and Bonnie Brown, of Lewistown.Also surviving are sisters, Regina Star, of Avon, N.Y., and Dorothy Eggars, of Amett, Louisana.She was preceded in death by a son, George Freed, in 1974; a grandson, Kevin C. Freed, in 2006; a great-great-grandson, Zaignee Elliott-Freed; a brother, Eugene Treaster; and four sisters, Caroline Snook, Iona Horne, Anna Smith and Vivian Benner.She was a homemaker; a member of St. Mark's Alfarata Lutheran Church and a former member of the Decatur Fire Co. Auxiliary.Her funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., with the Rev. Dave Carson officiating. Interment will be in Union Memorial Gardens, Mifflintown.Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.Memorial contributions can be made to St. Mark's Alfarata Lutheran Church, 573 Alfarata Road, Lewistown, PA 17044.
