Charley graduated from Central High in 1950, He married Dorothy Bradley August 15 1952. He served 42 years in the United States Naval Reserve. Member of Sandusky Avenue Baptist Church. Survived by: wife, Dorothy; daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Dewey Bennett of Rocky Point, Charlene and Sam Garman of Tulsa, Gina and Joe Beck of Skiatook; grandchildren, Jason, Rodney, Charley, Cole and Cheyenne; sisters, Louise Rogers, Virginia Chandler, Billie Brown; mother, Jewel Mattoon.

Personal note: When I joined the Naval Reserves in 1975, one of the first people I met was Charley. He put his arm around my shoulder in a type of father to son embrace, and told me, "Son, stick with me, and I will teach you everything about the Navy."
Charley and I went on many active duties together and he taught me so much about being a good sailor. There are many things today that I remember him telling me and use many of them in day to day life.
