Lloyd was the son of James Ollie Bright and Nina Cook.

Lloyd O. Bright, Ponca City resident and former resident of Tonkawa, died on Thursday, August 4, 2011. He was 74. A memorial service will be held at 10am on Tuesday, August 9, 2011 in the chapel of the Trout Funeral Home. Lloyd Bright was born on Jan. 26, 1937 in Ponca City to James and Nina (Cook) Bright. He grew up in Ponca City where he received his education. In 1954 Lloyd joined the United States Navy and he served our country for four years. In 1961 he enlisted in the United States Air Force and proudly served our country before retired as a Tech Sergeant. On January 23, 1959 Lloyd married Betty Lou Hall. On Sept. 10, 1982 Lloyd married Darla (Blubaugh) in Ponca City. They lived in Ponca City before moving to Tonkawa in 1989 where Lloyd worked as a rural mail carrier. They moved back to Ponca City in 2005. Lloyd enjoyed restoring classic cars, gardening and being outdoors. He will be missed in the lives of many. He is survived by his wife Darla, of the home; children, Mark Bright of Ponca City, Michael Bright of Kansas, Kathy Wallace and her husband Marty of Kansas, Jeff Backus and his wife Joline of North Carolina and Andy Kautz of Washington; grandchildren, Mark Adam Bright, Matthew Lloyd Bright, Jacob Wallace, Kortney Wallace, Chase Backus, Colton Kautz, Sierra Kautz; great-grandchildren, Aaron Nicholas Bright and Kylee Bright; sister, Norma Spratt of TN and Danny Bright of MO. Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Linda Waller and Ronnie Bright and great- granddaughter, Danica Bright. Memorial contributions may be made to the DAV, P.O.
