Mrs. Julia Hilts Dockstader, widow of Armstrong Dockstader, died Tuesday afternoon at her residence 8 Park Avenue, being in her 67th year. Mrs. Dockstader was a lifelong resident of the town of Herkimer.
She was the daughter of William George Hilts and Delia Baldwin.
On July 4, 1860, she was married to Armstrong Dockstader who died in 1900.
She was a devout and consistent member of the First M.E. Church and was always active in church affairs. She was a kind neighbor and had many friends who will regret her demise.
Three daughters survive, Mrs. Stephen Taylor of this village, Mrs. George Lake of Mohawk and Mrs. William Harter of North Herkimer. There also survive six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Ilion Citizen, Thursday, July 13, 1911

HERKIMER - Mrs. Julia Dockstader, who died at her home in Herkimer, leaves besides her children and grandchildren, two brothers and two sisters, George Hilts of Buffalo, Andrew Hilts and Mrs. Long [Benjamin] Petrie of Herkimer and Mrs. Arthur Hall [Dora] of Utica. The 1865 NY State Census stated that Julia was the mother of 2 children. The 1900 U.S. Census noted that Julia was the mother of 6 children, with 3 children living.
