Funeral Service held for L. Cyrus Kendall at First Ward.

Funeral Service for Levi Cyrus Kendall 64, who died of pneumonia March 17 at 10:00 were held in the Vernal First Ward chapel Thursday at 1:00 pm. Bishop Alfred Simper of Davis Ward presided assisted by Fuller Remington of the First Ward Bishopric.
The speakers were George A. Slaugh and George R. Goodrich, who told of their long acquaintance with the deceased and offered consolation to the bereaved family.
The music was furnished by a special chorus conststing of Harold E. Davis, W B Wallis, Mrs John Jorgensen, Mrs Wallace Calder, Mrs Glenn Lambert and Mrs. Vern Shimrun who sang, "I Need Thee Every Hour" "God Be With You Till We Meet Again", and Earth With Her Ten Thousand Flowers". A duet, "Farewell to Thee" was sung by Mrs. Jorgensen and Mrs. Calder, The accompanist was Mrs. John Stagg. The invocation was by Fuller Remington and the benediction by Bishop Simper.
The pall bearers were his nephews, Alonzo and Andrew Atwood, Charles John, Harold and Frank Kendall.
Interment was made in the Vernal City cemetery and the grave dedicated by Benjamin Slaugh.
Levi Cyrus Kendall was born on Sept 21, 1871 at Oxford, Idaho his parents being Levi Cyrus and Comfort Ann Cox Kendall. Fifty years ago he came to the Ashley Valley and later farmed in Davis Ward.
Mr. Kendall has been married three times, once to Mrs. Holmes of Vernal and divorced later on. December 23, 1900 he married Effie Matilda Smuin, who died in July 1921. Ten children were born to them, eight of whom survive: Mrs. Bertha Ann Boren, Mrs. Hazel M. Olsen, both of Vernal, Mrs. Myrtle Alger; Twin Falls Idaho, Mrs. Jennie Atwood; Boundary Creek, Alberta Canada, Mrs. Lucy Doolin; Baggs Wyoming, Levi Kendall; Dixon Wyoming, William and Hurshel Kendall both of Baggs, Wyoming, also two brothers Thomas and William Kendall, and three sisters, Mrs. Eliza Smuin of Vernal, Mrs. Netta Atwood; Alberta, Canada; Mrs. Sarah Allen; Rawlings, Wyoming, two step children Westley DeLoyd Molyneaux; Vernal and Miss Learie Martha Molyneaux: Sacramento, California. One Son by last marriage James Kendall. Mr. Kendall was married to Mrs. Cordellia Molyneaux in 1925 who died in August, 1935 at Baggs, Wyoming. Twenty-four grandchildren survive.
About 5 years ago he went to Baggs, Wyoming and returned here after his wifes death and lived with his daughter, Mrs. Vern Olsen, where he passed away.
