PARDEEVILLE - David W. Barden, age 66, of Pardeeville, passed away on Thursday, March 18, 2004, at the Harbor House in Baraboo where he resided the past three weeks. Dave was born on April 4, 1937, at the family home in Cambria, the son of Orlin and Grace (Jerred) Barden. He served his country in the Army in active duty and the reserves for six years.

On Oct. 24, 1959, he was united in marriage to Grace Mueller at the St. Mary Catholic Church in Portage. Three children blessed their marriage. Dave worked for his uncle, Tom Killoran, as a plasterer, was a Pepsi route salesman, and then worked at the power plant as a clerk. He was a member of the Columbia County Humane Society.

He enjoyed watching all forms of automobile racing, sprint, midget and stock car racing. Dave was an avid reader. Woodworking was his passion. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. His family always came first. He supported his grandchildren in their many activities. Dave loved his five year old West Highland white terrier, "Buddy."

He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Grace A. Barden of Pardeeville; children, Roy (Laura) Barden, Daniel (Renee) Barden, and Faye (Duane) White, all of Pardeeville; grandsons, Nathan, Wade, and Luke Barden and Adam White; step-granddaughters, Jayme and Sarah; step-great-grandson, Michael; sister, Janice (William) Stancer of Missouri; a brother, Allan (Lynda) Barden of Cambria; and special aunts, uncles, extended family, nieces, nephews, other near relatives and dear friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial for David Barden will be held on Monday, March 22, 2004, at 11 a.m. at the ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH in Pardeeville. Father Jason Hessling will preside. Burial will follow at the Marcellon Cemetery with full military rites by the Pardeeville American Legion and V.F.W. posts.
