PORTAGE — Mrs. Rose L. Jacob, age 69, of Portage, died on Sunday, November 5, 1989, at the Divine Savior Hospital, She was born on February 10, 1920, in Tomahawk, Wisconsin, the daughter of William and Rosean (Lawrence) Bessey. She graduated from Rhinelander High School in 1938 and was married on December 10, 1953, to Glen N. Jacob. Mrs. Jacob worked for Rayovac in Portage for 19 years until her illness forced her retirement. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Portage. Survivors include her husband, Glen of Portage; her children, Blllle Rose, Leonard (Beth), and Renee (Ron); her grandchildren, Courtney and Stephanie; and other near relatives and close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brothers, Avery, Berl and Floyd Winchell. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 1989, at 10:30 a.m. at ST. MARY'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, with Reverend Raymond Kertz officiating. Burial will follow in Silver Lake Cemetery. Friends may call at the PFLANZ FUNERAL HOME in Portage, where a vigil service will be held. A special thank you to the doctors and nurses of Meriter Madison General Hospital and Divine Savior Hospital.
