She was born December 26, 1912, in Catlett, Virginia. She was predeceased by her parents, John W. and Dellarine Dunn, her husband, Ocie L. Bird, one son, Jackie Herring and two brothers, William and Sidney Dunn.
She is survived by four daughters, Betty Hicks, Donna Kinnaman, Beverly Bird and Linda Neilson; four sons, Richard, David, Gerald and Robert; 11 grandchildren; three great grandchildren and four sisters, Virginia Kepler, Margaret Smith, Ruby Lanahan and Ruth Dunn.
The family will receive friends from 3:00-5:00 P.M. Sunday, September 27, 2009 at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas. Funeral services will be held 12:30 P.M. Monday, September 28, 2009 at Buckhall United Methodist Church, 10251 Moore Drive, Manassas, Virginia with Rev. John F. Hull officiating. Interment will follow at Stonewall Memory Gardens, Manassas, Virginia.
