GLEN -- Winston 'Wimpy' Emerson, 73, retired Glen postal master, died Thursday of heart disease in Branson, Mo. Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Coleman Funeral Home of Corinth with burial in Forrest Memorial Park in Corinth. He was a graduate of the University of Mississippi, a Marine Corps veteran, had been in the National Guard for 12 years, was a World War II veteran and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion.
Mr. Emerson, the husband of Ona Leon Woodruff Emerson, also leaves three daughters, Kay Perkins and Frances Ivey, both of Glen, and Lynn Fielding of Iuka; a son, John W. Emerson of Glen; three sisters, Sue George of Aberdeen, Katie Ruth Russo of Iuka and Dorothy Andrisen of Burnsville; a brother, James D. Emerson of Burnsville, 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
