CORINTH - Vela Mae Chamblee, 60, employee of Retail Carpet and Floor Covering, died Tuesday at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo after a short illness. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Coleman Funeral Home with burial in Forrest Memorial Park.
Mrs. Chamblee, the wife of Marvin Chamblee, also leaves five daughters, Diane Moore, Brenda Vandiver, Angela Rorie, Rhonda Baswell and Sondra Dowd, and a son, Michael Chambell, all of Corinth; two stepdaughters, Brenda West of Greenville and Gloria Hood of Philipp; a stepson, Marvin Chamblee Jr. of Greenville; four sisters, Doris Glidewell, Helen Crabb, Kathryn Frazier and Lynn Price, all of Corinth; three brothers, Hershel Ray Austin of Jackson, Donald Austin of Athens, Greece, and Larr y Austin of Memphis, 14 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
