Funeral Service for Ed "Papaw" Briggs 80 are set for 4:00 P.M. Sunday, May 20, 2012 at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Leonard Pratt and Bro. George Bland officiating, Eddie Joe Davis will provide the eulogy.

Burial will follow in the Forrest Memorial Park, (now known as Magnolia Gardens) Corinth, Alcorn County, Mississippi.

Mr. Briggs died May 18, 2012 at Magnolia Regional Health Center, Corinth, MS.

He was born July 11, 1931 in Prentiss County, MS to the late Kelse and Callie (Johnson) Briggs.

Mr. Briggs was a retired automotive tech for many years, working for Tom Hodum's Exxon Gas Station, Larry James Oldsmobile and Morris Crum's.

He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

He enjoyed camping and spoiling his grandchildren.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Grover, Cleo, Harvey and Leo Briggs, his sisters Flossie Briggs and Dorothy (Briggs) Grimes; Father and Mother-in-law Willie and Mamie (Killough) Price.

Mr. Briggs is survived by his wife of 57 years Louise (Burney) Briggs, a daughter Cindy Briggs and a son Eddie Briggs, his grandchildren Morgan (Daniel) Bishop and Madison Briggs and a host of other family and friends.

Pallbearers are Lewis Grimes, Eddie Joe Davis, James Burney, Paul Price, Billy Wilbanks and John Cooksey.

Honorary Pallbearers are the Adult Men's Class of Calvary Baptist Church

Visitation is Sunday from 1:00 to service time
