Death of John Ryan

John Ryan died Sunday afternoon, October 2d at 4:30 o'clock at Election Bros Hospital at St. Louis, aged 47 years. A little over two years ago he was afflicted with a disease of the nerves and was taken to the hospital in St. Louis for treatment. His condition did not improve, however and he continued to grow weaker until death finally relieved his suffering.

The remains were shipped to this city, arriving Tuesday and funeral services were held Wednesday morning at St. Patrick's church conducted by Rev. Fr. --?--, after which the remains were interred in the Catholic cemetery.

Besides the step-mother, Mrs. Margaret Ryan, the deceased leaves to mourn his death two brothers Dennis and Edward of this city, one sister Mrs. Edward O'Reilly of Chicago, three half sisters Mrs. Andrew Wiltz, Mrs. M. P. Layton of Minonk, and Mrs. Fred David of Freeport, and James Owens a step-brother, and Mrs. George Hindert a step-sister, both of this city.

About fifteen years ago the deceased engaged in the livery business, which he successfully conducted until his illness forced him to retire.
