Elizabeth Boston was born at Bloomington on Feb. 20, 1865. Mrs. Elizabeth Findley, 48, died at Kansas City, Kansas, on Jan. 27, 1914. The remains have been awaited here for almost a week. The delay is caused by two sons, who are on their way to attend the funeral, but who were on a hunting trip in Montana, where it was difficult to locate them.

She was first united in marriage to Tom Spires, and to this union were born two sons, Arthur and Edward, both of whom are living with their father at Pontiac. Mr. and Mrs. Spires were divorced, and later she was united in marriage to Mr. Hugh Findley. To this union no children were born.

She recently underwent an operation for a tumor which led to her demise.

The funeral services will be held at St. Paul's church tomorrow afternoon, at 1 o'clock, Rev. Kettelhut officiating, and burial will take place at the Minonk Cemetery.

Hugh's death date is not on the stone they share in Minonk. One can guess a variety of reasons. The death date of December 4, 1918 appears on memorial #18828202 for Hugh A. Findley buried at Grant Cemetery in Creighton, Cass County, Missouri.

I received information from Kee Rodgers that Hugh married Minnie Gregg in 1903 and had two daughters in 1908 and 1909. Mr. Findley and Minnie divorced, and he married Bertha Spires in 1910. At this point, I do not find substantiation of this marriage in my research or know where they lived. Bertha died in 1914 and it is not known where Hugh was after that. It is assumed he is buried at the other cemetery even though a stone is in place for him in Minonk. Perhaps when he died, the person(s) making arrangements were not aware that a stone in Illinois was inscribed for him, and they had him buried in his home territory, same cemetery as his grandfather, Henry Clark Cusick.

I would appreciate any other input on this.
