DEATH SUMMONS MINONK WOMAN
Mrs. Sylvester Spires to be buried Thursday from St. Paul Church

Mrs. Emilie Boston-Spires, aged 79, who has lived in Minonk and vicinity since her marriage with Sylvester Spires, October 1, 1884, died in St. Mary's Hospital in this city shortly after midnight this morning. She was removed to the local hospital for treatment a week ago. Her passing was attributed to a heart attack.

The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Boston, Mrs. Spires was born at Bloomington, January 20, 1863. Mrs. Spires was confirmed in St. Paul's Church 62 years ago at the age of 17.

She and Mr. Spires went to housekeeping east of Spires station when they were first married and 19 years later bought the Phillingham farm, one-half mile east of Spires station, remaining there until 1919 when they bought the spacious home on West Fourth Street in Minonk to which they retired. The death of Mr. Spires occurred there in March 1928.

They became the parents of two children, Henry of Minonk and Mrs. Philip (Elizabeth) Osuna of Roswell, New Mexico. They are left together with three brothers: Otto [Boston] of Minonk, Edward [Boston] and Henry [Boston] of El Paso. [*Note: her sister, Lena, was also living at the time.] Three sisters and three brothers preceded her in death. [*Note: her parents also preceded her.]

Funeral services will be held from St. Paul's Evangelical Church Thursday afternoon at 2:3- o'clock. Burial will follow in the Minonk Cemetery.
