According to the Illinois Civil War Muster and Descriptive Roll, Martin K. Pistole was a 5'9" single farmer with dark hair and eyes when he enrolled in September 1864. He mustered out in July 1865.
The Illinois Department of Veteran Affairs, lists Martin Pistole's burial place as Watson Cemetery. We believe the Waston and Pistole Cemeteries are the same cemetery based on the fact that several Pistoles are buried here and that a man named Watson once owned this land.
Martin Pistole married Cornelia Carner on Oct. 15, 1866 in Calhoun Co., IL.
