GOSHEN -- Friends of Natalie J. Jontz may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church, 2626 Prairie St., Elkhart, where services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, with the Rev. John Blodgett of First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Sugar Grove Cemetery.

She was born Jan. 2, 1989, in De Kalb, Ill., to Darrell and Jean (Durham) Jontz.

They survive, along with two sisters, Ali Jontz, at home, and JoAnne (Joe) Kelly of Lincolnshire, Ill.; two brothers, Karl (Allison) Jontz of Dallas, Texas, and Derek (Kellsa) Jontz of De Kalb; grandparents Gerald (Bernice) Durham of Genoa, Ill., and Frances Jontz of Newton, Iowa; and great-grandmother Lillie Odom of Genoa.

An honor student, she was attending Elkhart Christian Academy, where she served as a secretary/treasurer of her sophomore class and excelled at sports and music. She played piano and trumpet and sang in the school choir. She played volleyball, basketball, softball and indoor soccer.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Natalie's funeral was packed with her family many friends from school and the students wore orange Polo shirts (which she loved) in her honor. (They were sold out in a 20 mile radius.) A Power Point presentation was shown with memories of Natalie's young life while the song "Unforgettable" was playing (sung by Nat King Cole and his daughter Natalie King Cole). It was beautiful. She was popular and impacted many lives in her young life. She was a friend to everyone. She loved her Lord Jesus with all her heart. She is missed by all who knew her.
POEM ON NATALIE'S FUNERAL SERVICE REMEMBRANCE CARD:
"I'M FREE"
Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free
I'm following the path God laid for me.
I took His hand when I heard him call;
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day,
To laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way;
I found that place at the close of day.
If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared a laugh, a kiss;
Ah yes, these things, I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life's been full, I savored much;
Good friends, good times, a loved ones touch.
Perhaps my time seems all to brief;
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me,
God wanted me now, He set me free.
