David Michael Garland, age 53, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, March 12, 2014. He was an employee of Buckeye Diamond Logistics where he had worked for over 20 years. Dave was a car enthusiast. He loved muscle cars and NASCAR. He was also very creative and enjoyed painting, camping and being outdoors. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Vicki Garland and father, Melvin Garland. Dave is survived by his loving wife, Nancy; children, Kaci Jones, Rich Jones, Kelly Jones, Mitchel Shawhan and Adam Shawhan; 8 grandchildren; mother, Mary Garland; brothers, Melvin (Sandra) Garland, Jr. and John Garland; special friends, Roger and Anna Naus, Johnny Bayes and Melodie Miller, Bill and Kim VanDyke, the McAdow family and the Boldman family; dogs, Tank and Harley; and many other relatives and dear friends. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 pm Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at the SCHOEDINGER HILLTOP CHAPEL, 3030 W. Broad St. Columbus, Ohio where funeral service will held 10 am on Wednesday. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery. Contributions in Dave's memory may be made to the Ross Heart Hospital.
