Mrs. Murphy was born Oct. 15, 1918 in Phoenix, Ariz. to Raymond and Letetia Wright Shedd. She grew up in Arizona, graduating from Phoenix Union High School in Phoenix in 1936. In 1939, she married William O. Haley in Cottonwood. Mr. Haley died in 1963 and she later married Pat Murphy.
Mrs. Murphy lived in Arizona until moving to Twin Falls 12 years ago to be near her daughter. She enjoyed a beautiful sunrise and sunset, playing poker, shooting a good game of pool, cooking and crocheting, and was a great hunter. One fall, she killed two wild turkeys with one shot. Her greatest loves were nature and people.
Mrs. Murphy is survived by her daughter; son; two stepchildren; her sister, Ruth Emlet of Payson; six grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands; her parents; an infant son, William DeWitt Haley; by her brother, Thomas Martin; and by her sister, Ramona McPherson.
