Annie Laurie Alvarez, 92, died Thursday, June 28, 2001. A native of Jacksonville, Mrs. Alvarez was a charter member of Garden City United Methodist Church and an active member of the United Methodist Women. She was predeceased by her husband of 72 years, A. Ted Alvarez, Sr. and two daughters, Doris Alvarez and Gloria Weaver. Survivors include four sons, Ted (Virginia) Alvarez, Jr., Ray (Joyce) Alvarez, Warren (Mary) Alvarez, and Robin (Linda) Alvarez; 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 3, in the Garden City United Methodist Church. Entombment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The pallbearers will be her grandsons. The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Monday (TODAY) at COREY-KERLIN FUNERAL HOME, 1426 Rowe Avenue. Flowers may be sent or donations made in her memory to the Garden City United Methodist Church, 3057 Dunn Ave., Jacksonville, Fla. 32218.
