Caroline Vining Becker, 73, passed away January 22, 2009. Born in Jacksonville to Ernest and Thelma Davis Vining, Caroline was a loving and devoted wife, mother, Bubbe, and friend. Caroline was a 1953 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School. She was a member of Beth Shalom Congregation and was involved with Retired Senior Volunteer Program where she read to children in the public school system. Caroline also was involved as a Children's Advocate with the Guardian Ad Litem Program. She enjoyed being a member of the Red Hats Society.

Preceded in death by her parents, she is survived by her husband of 50 years, Eli P. Becker; daughters, Teri Adams (David) and Karen Johnson (Joseph); grandchildren, Morgan Adams and Benjamin Johnson as well as many other family members and friends.

Graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m. Sunday, January 25, 2009 at Old Center Cemetery (located in Evergreen Cemetery at Temple Gate) with Rabbi Martin Sandberg officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Caroline's name to the American Cancer Society, the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation, Arthritis Foundation or to Beth Shalom Congregation. Arrangements are by Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home.
