Dian was born in Macon, Georgia on April 11, 1943. She had lived in Jacksonville for the past 58 years. From 1970 to 1980, she was a school crossing guard along Merrill Road. She owned The Grand Gesture Card and Gift Shop on East Bay St from 1980 to 1983. In 1984, she began a career in mortgage banking with Stockton, Whatley, Davin and Company, Bank of Boston, Homeside Lending and retired from Washington Mutual in 2004 as a Unit Supervisor. Over the last 49 years, she praised her Lord and Savior at Arlington Christian Church, Fort Caroline Christian Church, and Fort Caroline Baptist Church. She loved spending her time with family, scrapbooking, and making jewelry.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Denise Lynn Bailey, in 1987.
She is survived by her deeply devoted husband of 53 years, Donald L. Bailey, Sr., three loving sons, Donald Jr. (Michelle), Darryl (Renee), and David (Roni), her sister Jonnie Dixon Davis, and four grandchildren, Erin, Eric, Dayna, and Emily.
Visitation will be held at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Blvd. Tuesday, June 12 at 6:00PM-8:00PM. A celebration of her life will be conducted Wednesday, June 13 at Fort Caroline Baptist Church, 11428 McCormick Road, at 11:00AM, Senior Pastor Richard Powell officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fort Caroline Baptist Church Building Fund.
