Dorsey B. Harper, 86, well known Woodsfield resident, died Sunday, September 16, in the Barnesville hospital following a long illness Mr. Harper was born near Woodsfield, May 15, 1876; a son of Nelson and Amelia Mann Harper. He was a retired horse dealer, and for a number of years owned and raced horses. For 38 years, Mr. Harper was President of the Monroe County Fair Board. At the time of his death he was Honorary Life President of the Board. Surviving are several nieces and nephews. He never married. Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Harper Campbell funeral home. Beallsville, with Evangelist John Hamilton officiating. Burial was in Bush cemetery near Malaga.
