Mr. Durham was born June 11, 1935, in Stokes County, a son of Rossie Lee Durham and Carrie Dunman Durham. He retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. as a mechanic after 30 years of service.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Billie Butcher Durham, in 1988; and a sister, Mozelle Cook.
He is survived by his children, Dee Marchand and husband John of Winston-Salem, Robin Nelson and husband Thomas Sr. of Kernersville and Thomas Durham of Kernersville; sisters Clara Priola, Laura Shelton, Ruby Shelton and Lolene Vaden and husband Marion; brothers, Reid Durham and wife Avalene and Frank Durham and wife Gail; grandchildren Thomas Nelson Jr., 13; Kimberly Nelson, 9; and stepgrandson John Marchand Jr., 13; and a very special sweetie of 17 years, Rachel Tuttle.
