"Greenwood - Graveside services for John Ewing Neill, III, who died Nov. 6, 2004 in Atlanta, Ga., were held Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004 at Oddfellows Cemetery in Greenwood. Wilson and Knight Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Neill was born Oct. 5, 1938 in Greenwood to John Ewing Neill II and Van Davidson Neill. He was a Marine Corps fighter pilot in Vietnam. He was a graduate of the University of Mississippi and later traveled around the world as a captain for Pan Am and Delta airlines. He and his wife, Nancy, raised their children in Atlanta, Ga. Mr. Neill was best remembered for his sense of humor, his woodworking and gardening skills and his rapport with children. He was a member of St. James United Methodist Church in Atlanta.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Wall Neill; one daughter, Helen Neill Adams; one son, John Morgan Neill, all of Atlanta; two sisters, Marysue Neill Sullivan of Mendenhall and Van Dyke Neill, of Greenwood; nephews, Harris and Izumi Sullivan of Auburn, Wash,. Shawn and Kathlee Sullivan of Mexico City, Mike and Jane Sullivan of Atlanta and Marshall and Carlton Wall of Jackson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Betty Neill Sommer.
Memorial may be made to the Greenwood Leflore Public Library."
