Hazel Albert Pounds was born in Tekamah, Nebraska, February 4, 1905 and lived in this immediate vicinity most of her life. On October 19, 1922, she was married to Glen Milton Brewer. She was the mother of eight children, one of whom died at birth, August 30, 1940. She was a kind, patient and loving wife and mother and will be missed by all who knew her.
Mrs. Brewer died on August 30th, 1940, in the 36th year of her life. Besides her husband, she leaves six daughters, Mrs. Fern Uehling, Joy, Anna Lee, Iris Mae, Rita Lavonne and Florine Alberta; one son, Glenn Edward; one grandson, Gary Russel Uehling; five sisters, Mrs. Julia Entrikin, Mrs. Sadie Farber, Mrs. Reva Johnson and Mrs. Melvina Jump; three brothers, Richard, Charles and George (Jeffie) Pounds. Many other relatives and friends mourn her passing.
Funeral services were held at the Federated Church, Decatur, Sunday afternoon, September 1, 1940, conducted by Rev. H. C. Seidel, Minister, with singing by the CHurch Choir and she was sadly laid to rest with her babe in Hillcrest Cemetery.
