Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, March 16, at the United Methodist Church in Decatur for Clara Ethel Fredericks, 87, who died March 12, at Oakland.
Rev. Ralph Ford officiated. Music was provided by Mrs. Glen Miller and Mrs. George Brewer, vocalists, and Mrs. Larry Tippery, organist.
Pallbearers were Johnie Beard, George Busse, Clinton Blevins, Merle Farrens, Lyle Redding, and Gary Warren.
Interment was at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Decatur.
Clara Ethel Fredericks was born March 11, 1894, to Taylor and Elizabeth Artlip of Braddyville, Iowa.
She spent her early years at Braddyville and moved to Decatur at the age of 15 years, making her home with her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. George Farrens.
She was united in marriage to William Fredericks on September 19, 1911. She spent many years on the farm near Decatur until 1973, when she moved into her home in Decatur.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church. She had been a resident at the Logan Valley Manor in Lyons for over one year.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her only sister, Ida Beck, one niece and one nephew. She is survived by eight nieces and nephews and several cousins.
