Billy was the fourth child born to Gilbert Estes Higginbotham and Lilly Idella Andrews Higginbotham.He was married to Dorothy Sue Castle on August 21,1955.They have been members of the First Baptist Church of Itta Bena for 57 years.He is survived by his wife,their three children;Linda H.Williams (Ronnie)of Jackson Mississippi,Byron Higginbotham (Kay)of Searcy Arkansas and Karen H Ashley(Jeff) of Madison Mississippi, five grandchildren as follows;Stephanie H Williams (Steve) Searcy Arkansas,Joshua Higginbotham (Leslie)of Searcy Arkansas,Wayne Higginbotham of Searcy Arkansas,McKayla Ashley and Anna Leigh Ashley of Madison Mississippi, and five great grand children as follows;Chastin Reed,Channing Williams,Caden,Carver,,and Olivia Higginbotham all of Searcy Arkansas.One Sister Allie Odean Reynolds (she followed him in Death two days later)and many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers,Thomas Cleveland (TC) and Aubrey Higginbotham.He loved spending time with his children,grand children,great grand children and extended family. It brought Joy to him to make music with family and friends. He had natural talent playing the acoustic guitar,mandolin, and the Bass guitar. He loved to hunt,fish,garden and spend time with his animals.Billy served in the Army in Korea. He was a Corporal Gunman with Company 27th Infantry in Korea from 1951 until 1953. After service in Korea he served as a sergeant in the Army Reserves from 1953 until 1959. Funeral services entrusted to Wilson & Knight of Greenwood Mississippi.Visitation Monday 10/22/2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.Funeral services Tuesday 10/23/2012 conducted by Brother Higdon Herrington officiating.Burial at the McNutt cemetery near Schlater Mississippi. Pall bearers as follows:Wayne Aldridge,Curtis Aust,Gene Bidwell,Richie Fulghram,Robert Joiner and Larry Kelley.Honoray Pall Bearers are Marlon Jennings,Kirby Kelly,Randal Makamson,Bo Prestidge and George Young.
