Hershell Homer Arrington was a native of Cedartown, Georgia. Following his graduation from Cedartown High School in 1951, he joined the U. S. Air Force. He was assigned as a Military Policeman at a testing station in Yuma, Arizona. In recognition of 100 hours of faithful service as a member of the Ground Observer Corps, Mr. Arrington was given the Meritorious Service Award from the United States Air Force.

Mr. Arrington was an employee at the General Electric plant in Rome, Georgia for almost 38 years. He was also a very faithful member of Garden Lakes Baptist Church, serving as a deacon, as well as in other ministries. Hershell loved listening to Southern Gospel music and watching old westerns on television. He was known in the community as an excellent "handy man" and he loved working on cars, as well. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and church.

Daniel's Funeral Home had charge of the services for Mr. Arrington.
