Charles C. Crossnoe, age 92, of Winfield, passed away January 7, 2013 at the Kansas Veterans Home in Winfield.

Family Interment services will be 11:00am, Thursday, January 10, 2013 in Highland Cemetery. A Memorial service will be conducted at 1:00pm on Thursday at the First Presbyterian Church in Winfield. Visitation will be Wed. January 9, 2013 from 4pm to 7pm at Swisher-Taylor & Morris FH. Memorials are to the First Presbyterian Church and the Cowley County Humane Society. He was born July 17, 1920 in Pelahtche, Ms. To Otho and Grace(Carr) Crossnoe. From a young age he resided in and was educated at the Tennessee Industrial School in Nashville, Tn. He married Laura Schantz July 9, 1943 at the First Presbyterian Church in Winfield. She passed away June 18, 1985
After high school he served in the Tennessee National Guard and was activated into the US Army Air Corp in 1942. He was assigned to Strother Field as a member of an advanced team to establish electrical lighting systems for the airfield. After the war, he continued as an electrical contractor eventually establishing Crossnoe Electric.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where he served as a Deacon. He was also a member of the American Legion. He was known as an avid gardener, frequently sharing vegetables with friends. He enjoyed reading history and loved animals. He raised show pigeons and show Cocker Spaniels.

He is survived by a daughter, Lynne Snyder and husband Jim of Winfield. A grandson, Erik Snyder and his wife Corina of Queen Creek, Az., granddaughter Jamie Archer and husband Danny of Winfield. Great-grandsons Jacob, Ethan, and Corbin. He is also survived by a beloved nephew Bob Fitzpatrick in Nashville, Tn.
