Born in Clebourne, Riley County, Kansas before moving with family to Marinette, Marinette, Wisconsin. Was a career teacher. Began teaching in Marinette before moving to Billings, Montana and Seattle, Washington. Moved to Cleveland, Ohio in 1923 where she began teaching at Harvey Rice Elementary School. Also taught at the old Observation school before becoming principal of Orchard Elementary and Hough Elementary. Retired in 1959. Attended Oshkosh Normal School in Oshkosh, Wisconsin and received a bachelor and then a masters degree from Western Reserve University in Cleveland. A life member of the Alpha chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, a professional education sorority in Cleveland. A long time resident of Wade Park Manor in Cleveland. Died in the Heather Hill nursing home in Chardon.
