Born May 8, 1952, in Kansas City, Mo., to Charles W. and Bobby A. Armstrong, John graduated from Raytown South High School in 1970. After high school John joined and served proudly the United States Marine Corp. John was employed by Lake City Army Ammunition Plant from 1982-2008. In 2008 John started employment with Jackson County LBVSD. John married Joyce L. on March 21, 1983.
John was preceded in death by his parents and his infant brother, Roger.
John was a unique individual and knew how to touch each person he came in contact with. He put a smile on your face, left a lasting legacy, and each of us with our own memories.
Survivors include his wife, his daughters, Audra Ann (Armstrong) Driggs (Dereck) and Lori Stubbeman (Mark); his sons, Wesley Armstrong and Matt Wheeler (Kim); his siblings, Linda Wiskur (John), Ruth Anne Long (Gerald), James Armstrong (Debbie); grandchildren, Makenzie and Isabella, Mason and Ethan, Reese, Mia Joy and Livia, Reagen and Taylor; and nieces and nephews.
