*** I am still active with the site. I am happy to transfer memorials as there are many in my management that should go to a relative or interested party. But I don't know if you don't ask! ***

If you have come across memorials because of Google search or Ancestry and something is super wrong or there is a typo you really want fixed this website (as of 2023) is actually super simple to get edits through even if the "host" of a memorial page is absent from the site and no longer checking updates. If the host rejects your edit that means they are active and you can start a conversation to discuss things more. I have found this to be an invaluable crowdsourcing site. Also, if you find lost pictures of people associated with memorials (antique store, etc.) please upload them!!! You never know what relative might look them up one day!

I was a senior at Clemson (circa 2007) when I randomly created an Ancestry.com account. That's when I discovered that although a few names did come to me, for the most part I didn't know the names of my own great-grandparents. Especially mom's side. The great-aunts and uncles were also a total loss. (At the time trees for more recent generations were not turning up on Ancestry.com or internet searches). Fast forward about 5 years and I've discovered so much and learn more every day. I'm also finding that investigating a random tangent often pays off later when you least expect it!

------------------------------------

Using this site as part of my research of my ancestors, specifically my direct line.

With very few exceptions all parts of my family seem to have lived in South Carolina for a VERY long time. (There are of course a few NC and GA sprinkled in).

I hope to meet some distant relatives!

Above all things I love old family photos. It is my sincerest hope that as long-separated family branches are reunited, treasured family photos can be shared with all descendants.

If any of these names/combos look familiar contact me and we can compare! Maybe we are relatives! :)

I am currently living in North Carolina.

*I have added some burial unknown entries. I have no interest in control over memorials once my edits have been made - I just want representation of the individuals! On the edit page for memorials you can easily submit duplicates of entries for merging. They will always favor the one with the photo and cemetery over unknown burials. I'm excited for more of these individuals to have their burial sites found and linked to their relatives!
