I was born in Los Gatos, California, and raised in both Silicon Valley, and Kuna, Idaho. I am a lover of the outdoors, computers, photography, reading, history, and music. I first came across Find A Grave while doing some online research on the comedic actor, John Ritter.

Soon after I joined the site, and became a volunteer photographer, I added info on my own family. I was shocked by the kindness of other members of the site - and had 6 requests of family headstones filled in just a couple days. I am determined to help others the same way.

I have loved walking through graveyards since I can remember. Apparently I used to do it with my mother when I was little - as early as 4 and 5 years old. She would take me for walks, and talk about life and death, and teach me about things that were deemed important in life. I remember doing it in my teen years with friends, and as a young adult while in the military.

Military graveyards are my favorite, since I feel a real kinship with the departed there, having been in the USN myself for eight years. Reading the names of the departed gives me a chance to honor those who came before me - people who had the same thoughts, fears, and many times very similar experiences to my own. Their history is our own history, since everything happens in cycles. Doing it also minimizes my own troubles in my life. It reminds me that many of the fears I may have or had in my life - these people had them too (and some of them even WORSE than my own!). Somehow it makes the issues or problems I have seem smaller, or at least easier to deal with.
