Bio

I'm a collector of many hobbies including hiking, genealogy, geocaching, knitting, babywearing, home production of everyday items, gardening, and outdoor survival. My latest hobby acquisition is attending nursing school, so I am taking a long break from graving, but I always respond to messages eventually. Do you think we might have a cousin in common? Let me know!

The surnames I am most interested in are: Acker, Bird, Bradley, Brenner, Burnett, Campbell, Carter, Casstevens, Crisp, Crowder, Fix, Geibel, Gray, Hellinger, Henry, Hess, Humble, Ingerton, Jewett, Jones, Kempf, Kley, Kremer, Loerwald, Massey, Matthews, Moran, Myers, Oaks, Oberhaussen, Otto, Paetzold, Passmore, Pick, Reagor, Reidel, Sargent, Schlosser, Schmitz, Scott, Steinmetz, Tanklersley, Tidwell, Troxel, Walter, Walterscheid, Wheatley, Wiggins, and Zehl.

I live far from any of the places where my family was buried, so I generally am not related to any of the memorials that I have created (the exception is Holy Family Cemetery in Nazareth, TX). Since these are not my own family, I cannot answer any genealogical questions, especially for cemeteries in Iowa and Colorado. I have transferred all memorials I created that are not family to Find a Grave for management. If you want any of these memorials transferred to you, then I suggest contacting Find a Grave.

A note about my photos:
While I respect the decision by others to copyright their volunteer photos and restrict the distribution of their work, I do not copyright my pictures. Any photos that I submit of headstones are free for anyone to use. You may upload them to any webpage you wish, paid or otherwise. You may also publish them freely on your webpages and family history books. You may credit me if you wish (send me a message for my real name), but it is unnecessary.
My primary reason for this is that I am mainly taking pictures of headstones of people who are not in my family. I do this as a gift to those who cannot travel to visit these headstones in person.
Second, I am not a professional photographer; I am not even a good photographer. Despite the shortcomings of my work, I am submitting these photos online because I feel that a bad photo is better than no photo at all. Also many of the headstones are getting so weathered that I very well may be the last person to be able to read the text. On that subject, I will not be offended if you wish to replace any of my photos with a better one.
