Bio

Hi, I have been doing genealogy for many years. My grandmother sparked my interest when I was a young girl and then gave all her work to other people. I remember a lot of it though and by the time I was 30 my interest was strong, so I've been actively working on it for about 44 years. I work on all my lines , so my files are really big.- mostly French Canada and New England. Dad's are French Canadian ( Fayette and Charland) and New England (Sherwin, Cole, Hill, Richardson, Shurtleff, Pike, Wilson etc. and then across the ocean. Mom's take me a little differemt route into New Enland with Emery, Shatswell, Ladd,Heath and other lines and her paternal ( Tamer) lines bring me into Syria/Lebanon where it is very hard to find anyone.

My husband, Adrian L. LaMar, was killed in an accident in 1996 and one year and 11 days later, my youngest daughter and her unborn son died with cancer. took lots of prayers to get through that. So, I began study to become a lay minister through the Diocese of Ogdensburg and was commissioned 2 years later. For 10 years my ministry (in Peru)was caring for people in throes of grief for a deceased family member. In 2007, I moved back to Plattsburgh and resigned my committee. In 2013, I took back my maiden name.

One of my favorite hobbies is walking through cemeteries, sometimes with a camera, sometimes not. Guess I need to remember to grab the shutters a little more often.
