Gwen Sherman
Carrie Stewart
Hi Gene,
I am researching the Sherman family of eastern NC and found where you posted a pic of the head stone of Carrie Stewart, wife of JT Stewart. She is buried in the Battle Park Cemetery in Nash Co, NC. I was so excited to find this and wondered if you would by any chance have any info on her husband's name? Thank you so much for all your hard work.

Caroline Jane Elston Staton
Gene - I know that you located a headstone for Caroline's husband, Joseph, in the Buffville cemetery. Is there also a headstone for Caroline? I know she died about 8 years after Joseph, and that she died in Wilson county, but cannot find records of where she is buried. Any help you can offer is much appreciated.

RE: Pvt. John R. Ezzell
No, I'm not a relation. Besides working on my own family, my particular interest on Find A Grave is tracking down what happened to North Carolina's war dead from WWI, most of whom, like Pvt Ezzell, were in the 30th Division. FWIW, the 30th was nicknamed the "Old Hickory Division because most of its soldiers were from North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee, the three states which claimed Andrew Jackson as a native son.

Family Link Request
Please connect Mary Melvina Tanksley-Stark memorial #11892233 to her parents in the same cemetery [Shelly]. Father is: William Edward Tanksley memorial #12190653. Mother is Margaret Jane Roberts-Tanksley memorial #12190670.

It would also be helpful if you would add the Roberts maiden name for Margaret.

I see your name on so many of the family members I am researching. Thank you for your generous volunteer work. Lynda
