Hi Brenda, I wanted to send you Christmas greetings, even though I let it slip up on me and now it is almost New Year's. Hope your Christmas was one of your best, and that 2014 is a great year for you.

From Australia.
On holidays to Tasmania and bunch of mates and I stopped for a break on our way to Port Arthur. We pulled up next to a cemetery in a little village. Whilst stretching our legs I spotted a grave that took my attention. Straight away, even from a distance I identified what I was seeing. I took this pic for his "brothers" who would have served with him. Let them know where this brave lad is resting. With respect, never forgotten.

I can supply a photo of the grave site

Edwin Kalilikane who is buried at Punchbowl Cemetery in Honolulu, HI, is my maternal grandfather. I think it is now called the Cemetery of the Pacific. I can provide family names, date and place of birth, etc.

RE: Find a Grave Photo Permissions
Hi Brenda,

Since it is not a claimed photo I'm hoping it's alright to use the photo then. That photo is incredible with the two flags positioned the way they are. I grew up in Texas and to see the two flags together warms my heart. Also knowing my Uncle Marion is buried in that cemetery is very special, too.

No one else in the area is going to add a picture of the two flags, I'm sure, if it's already on the site and this will be my only opportunity unless I go to Houston. I would imagine if the photographer didn't claim it as her/his own then it wasn't a priority.

I'll tell you what Brenda....I do not ever want to offend anyone. To me this site is very special, as well as the volunteers. How about this....I'll add the photo to my tree and I'll make you a promise. I live close to the SLC Family History Library and if you would like me to look something specific up for you I'll make the trip there. Forty five minutes away is a lot closer than a plane trip. Deal??

Have a blessed day,

Find a Grave Photo Permissions
Hi Brenda,

Some time ago you took a beautiful photo of the Houston National Cemetery. May I have permission to copy it and place it on my ancestry tree?

I will credit your name as the photographer. I also want you to know I'm not doing this for any type of monetary purpose.

Thank you for the service you are giving to others. I can see you have been very busy. Thanks!

RE: Jonathan Cheatham
I don't know how in the world your profile got the message. It was meant for another person. I did not think that it was rude....but firm. The individual that the message was meant for refuses to add the family links and updates that I keep asking her to add to my spouses family members. If my message came off unpleasant.....again I apologize. My mistake.

Thank you for the reply I don't know how much more complete I can make the memorial. Joe.

RE: Spc Anthony Mangano
Here is the response from GLENN about the photo request that I put in:

"There is no Anthony Mangano with matching dates listed in the cemetery directory or VA's NGL. I checked with the office and they couldn't find any record that may have been missed by the digital listing."

RE: Spc Anthony Mangano
The article does not say that he was buried at Long Island National if I read it correctly. I will order a photo later this week and see if one of our volunteers will check with the office to see if it has been overlooked.

A Horan
Sean Michael Durkin
Please add the cemetery where Sean Durkin, memorial # 51003241, is buried. Thank you.

DATE OF BIRTH: 01/18/1986
DATE OF DEATH: 04/09/2010

[Hay's Cemetery is in Northampton County PA]

Please be aware that, once you do add the burial location, there will be a duplicate for him in that cemetery; however, your memorial was created prior to the other one.

[I did send you a SAC on this previously]

Thank you.

Thank you so much for posting the photo of my friend John L Reid's memorial in Honolulu. I've been searching for him all these years. I was a close friend of his since high school and re-united with him as an adult but lost contact with him. I've googled his name all over but to no avail. I've contacted his family in the distant past but that was years prior to his death and they didn't know where he was....this is closure for me, its very very sad but now I know my search for him has ended.
