George E. Pickett IV

Would you considering transfering the Pickett IV memorial to me?

His son, George E.Pickett V is my daughter's father.

I would like to care for this online memorial and add some photos in addition.

TY very much,

Maureen Wilson Enstice

Dolf Carlson
I was sad to read of Dolf's death. We served together in the Pentagon in the early 80s. A consummate professional, he taught a me so much about his beloved Red Sox. Can you tell me how he died?

Thanks for posting this obit.

Dr. Hewett

Saw the picture and write up you have on Dr. Hewett. Would it be alright for us to copy it, to be put into the Fairfax High School, Fairfax, Missouri Alumni records?

Thank You,

Correction Re: Gen. Daniel Morgan Bio. - Find A Grave Memorial# 2755

I noticed in your Bio. for Gen. Daniel Morgan Find A Grave Memorial# 2755, you had the Battle of Cowpens listed as Cowpens, North Carolina. This is incorrect. Cowpens battle field is actually in South Carolina near the town of Chesnee, SC in Spartanburg County South Carolina (though the actual battlefield borders both Spartanburg & Cherokee Counties in South Carolina. I live near the battle field in Spartanburg, SC where we have a statue erected to Brig. Gen. Daniel Morgan in "Morgan Square" in Downtown Spartanburg, SC. I visit the battle field often which is run by the National Parks Service.

Please change Cowpens to South Carolina instead of North Carolina...

Phillip Fazzini requested that I transfer this memorial to you, which I just did. If you don't want the memorial, please accept my apologies and transfer it back to me.

Haley Pickett
Mr. Meir, I hate to inform you but you are NOT the last direct male descendent of Micajah Pickett. My father Marsh Picket and his male cousins are direct descendents. Just wanted you to know so you can correct your bio.

Charles Alexander Eastman, Memorial# 9798329
Hello Mr. Meir

I noticed a couple of smally typos in your biography of Charles Eastman

...."Between 1823 and 1825 he was in-charge of the Government's office of the Inspector of complaints against the Indian agency"

I suppose you meant to say 1923 and 1925 rather
than 1823 and 1825.

best regards
Daniel Guggisberg

RE: David Franks
Dear K.M.

You're very welcome. It's my pleasure to provide such a small gesture. I'm curious as to your sourcxs on Col. Franks. For a variety of reasons, his accomplishments should be developed into a wider realm (book, film, etc.) as he represents the quintessential "immigrant" and early adherent to American liberty. Not to mention a Jew in a world where Jews did not have ready access to many social institutions. Thank you again for your fine article and your work with Find-a-Grave in general. I can be reached at

Pickett Family in Pickett Cemetery
Wondering if you could contact me with a question regarding memorials you have placed for Mary "Little Mollie" Pickett. Responded to photo request for someone there to find cemetery very overgrown and many stones toppled. We took photos of all stones we could find and while posting I have something strange with this memorial.
Hope to hear from you soon!

Lucius Desha
Thank you for your reply. Did you receive the note about Lucius Desha #8041135? The picture that is attached to him is not the same Lucius. The Lucius belonging to the picture was my m-in-laws first cousin Lucius Junius Desha who lived and died in Va. He was a professor. I own the original picture as well as other Desha-Broadwell-Dills pictures that I have on my tree. We live in Cynthiana and not far from "The Oaks" the Desha home where the last desc. (sisters) the Duffys (Desha desc) lived.
Would love to connect with your Desha relatives in D.C. about the Desha family.
Thanking you most kindly,
My e-mail is

Lucius Junius Desha
Lucius Junius Desha #8041135 has the wrong photo attached, that photo was taken from my ancestry tree and is the picture of his grandson Lucius who died in Virginia (this is my husband's family). My husband has possession of all the Desha-Broadwell photos that are on our tree, he also has possession of the Family Bible among other items.
Thanking you most kindly

John Minge
To follow up: I have looked at avaialable cemetery records, including the interment book and the section book, and find no reference to a John Minge, either in the Minge-Pickett plot or elsewhere.

Lester Martin McKay
Lester was not the son of Isabell Nellis. He was the grandson of Isabell. His father was Martin McKay, and his mother was Dora Mason. Lester also never served any time in Europe with The Salvation Army. He also was rejected by his draft board, in Alabama, for military service, because of the number of children he had.

John Minge
I tried to find "John Minge" in the Shockoe Hill Cemetery records, but did not find anyone recorded of that name. Is there a variant spelling that you know of?

Pickett Cemetery
I just saw your message about Pickett Cemetery in Yazoo County, MS. The only picture I was able to take was that one of the locked gate since I had no way to get through the gate and there was nothing else to take a picture of from outside. I was disappointed that the cemetery was inaccessible.

Anthony Bledsoe
I am a great x 5 grandaughter of Anthony Bledsoe. According to research I have done, he married Mary Polly Ramsey in 1760. He preceded her in death, being killed at Bledsoe's Fort during an Indian attack. Some of my sources include "The Tennessee Encycopedia of History and Culture", "Historic Sumner County, Tennesee" written by Jay Guy Cusco, and a copy of the will of Anthony Bledsoe, in which he mentions his wife, Mary Bledsoe. He had a son named Anthony as well as a nephew and possible grandsons, maybe one of them married Susan Hart as well as being killed with John Campbell. My email address is if you want to respond. Thank you.
