The picture of the marker is correct, he is next to his wife, Myrtle Neva (Jones) Dean. So, I will let you contact the person maintaining the memorial. Also, they lived in Douglas, Ga which is Coffee County based on Ula Kirby's "Deep In Our Hearts".

Be glad to help if I can. Email me with what family you are looking for or questions you have and I'll see if I've got that information.

I saw on Darryl & Debra Vickers' messages and that you were looking for photos of Deens' graves:
Ebenezer Henry Deen # 38677634
Missouri Douglas Deen # 38677640
Henry Deen # 38677500
Nancy Miles Deen # 38677507
Sisco Deen sent me photos he has taken of Deen Cemeteries and said that I can post. Someone else had posted on Henry's page so I didn't put one there.
Are you related to the Deens? I am. Love to hear from you if you are.

European Theater medal....but don't add anymore photos like that to the memorial. Findagrave only allows 5 photos per memorial and if anyone ever wants to add a picture of him...they wouldn't be able to...I always add medals and chevrons as flowers!

I have added the information you provided to Minnie's memorial. The only thing left to add is the other three children by James. I tried to send in an edit to add the children but you have a pending edit to add the children.
I am not a genealogist or am not a member of Ancestry. I do use Family Search . Org from time to time but mainly I just walk up and down rows at the cemeteries and add names and marker photos to Find a Grave. With the new edit system that is in place where links and additional information on names and places of birth and death can be added by other contributors the memorials are looking better and information is being shared. I made several hundred trips to Evergreen Cemetery over a two year period. There is so many more graves and photos left to add that I know it is a work in progress that will take years to complete. I have over 87,000 photos just of Evergreen.
This is a link to Minnie's memorial that I have added your information to...http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=98159683
Good luck on your searches. God bless.

|Johnny||Minnie Louise Jones Burkett|
You recently requested a transfer for the memorial of Minnie Burkett but as I looked at the records I see that you created a duplicate with burial unknown for Mrs. Burkett on May 13, 2014. The memorial I added was created in Oct.2012. I can understand that when you created the unknown burial one you may not have found the one I created at Evergreen in 2012 complete with marker photos. On May 1, 2014 you sent an edit for Leona Orvin to link to her father James Holton. On May 13, 2014 you sent an edit to link Leona to your duplicate of Minnie Burkett that you had created. I approved he edit without checking that I was linking her to a duplicate memorial listed as burial unknown when I had already created a memorial in 2012. I have corrected my oversight.
You have over 120 burials unknown and many of them are duplicates of memorials that already exist in the correct cemetery. You have been a member for over 12 years but this is not the way Find a Grave is suppose to function. It violates so many guidlines. Please correct this situation.

|sgs||RE: Looking For Copy of Book|
Dianna, according to Ms Ula's book page 12 she said Mr Matthew Kirby died Nov 20, 1946 and was buried in Nashville, GA Cemetery but I do know the family plot in the Hazlehurst City Cemetery on N. Williams St in Hazlehurst, GA has markers for them because I took the pictures of them myself. I do know when Ms Ula was gathering information for her book, she lived in Douglas, GA. I remember her coming to my mother's (Linnie Mae (Simmons) Griffin to get information on our family. I hope this will help, the book I have is a copy too!

I couldn't find where her husband was buried. I put the 1930 census listing most of the children. I think there's an older child, Cleveland. The 1930 census seems to list this same family in Jacksonville, FL.
