Hi Curtis, I have been a Find A Grave contributor for 5 years. I live in Africa but have strong ties to the metro Atlanta Community where I lived from 1963 to 1990.
I had lunch with one of the board of directors of South-View about a week ago and was telling him about findagrave. He seemed quite interested. He was telling me that the cemetery is struggling to sort out the graves in the cemetery. Since there are suppose to be 70,000 graves I thought a few Find A Grave contributors in the area might want to take on the task of volunteering to inventory the cemetery. It would be a monumental task to do. What a service that some FAGer could do. I know that some people love to do this and it would take a few years to do this but I would like to offer the suggestion of the possibility if any one is interested. You can contact me and will provide you with the board members name if interested.

RE: Susie Broughton
Hi Curtis,

I apologize but I only went to the cemetery one day and have been unable to return to better understand the layout of the cemetery, etc. and to upload more memorials. I cannot recall exactly where I was in the cemetery on that day.

I encourage you to call the cemetery, since they are often able to help you locate your loved ones. The phone # listed is 404-761-5400.

Dear Ccurtis
Thank you so much for the visit for Yannis's Angel day. It made a hard day a little easier to know that so many friends care.

I was going to ask the same thing. And wondering if Albertina Walker had a final date on her crypt. Are you in Chicago or if not, know anybody who could?

Grave History
RE: Re: Bishop Hosley

You may be interested in a blog that I just started about the residents of South View. It can be found at It's in its infancy stages, but I have been so fascinated by the people I am finding there. It also saddens me about how little South-View is being discussed, so I decided that I would take it upon myself to start the documentation trail. I am starting in the area where the Herndon's, Crogman's, Holsey's are buried. I am not sure how often you visit, but as I am beginning the research I am finding some very interesting people. I haven't had a chance to blog about it, but I can't wait to discuss William Sherman Cannon (and his line of successful sons). Do you know about them?

Take care,

AWESOME!! Thanks so much! Someone took a lot of time an effort to make her stone. Some of my ancestors have handmade stones. A few have been replaced but we've all voted to leave the original there and just add the new.
Thanks for letting me know.
Have a wonderful weekend!!

RE: Thank You
Is there any way you can get a pic of it. I have some family buried in cemeteries that are kept up. I don't live near them so it's not easy to get anything done to help the situation.
Would love to see a pic of her stone. Have you submitted a request for a pic of it?
take care, Bev ~:}

RE: Thank You
You're so very welcome! Daddy was born in June of 1918, just a month after she died from that horrible flu pandemic. I read a book last year about that flu and the number of people that died in those few years is mind blowing. I'd never heard the real story I guess. In so many cemeteries I visit I see what seems like the graves of whole families that died around the time she passed. So sad.
Does your gr gram not have a stone?
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Traci's Mom
Token you left for Traci Fields
Curtis, thank you for your kind words. They are very much appreciated.

Because of you and other wonderful findagrave friends, Traci now has 5,134 flowers/tokens, and her birthday is still almost 3 weeks away. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! We appreciate you all so much.

I'm in awe! To show you more of what Traci was like, I posted the following on her memorial page,

"Traci, my angel, I can see the big grin on your face for all the flowers you're receiving on your memorial page. You're telling me, "Mom, why are you so surprised there are so many good people in this world? You should have known that....." "You're right, sweetheart, I should have know".

Traci was a person of strong faith, and GOD took excellent care of her, and helped her through all her hardships! Her faith never waivered.

GOD, bless them all, and thank you for your wonderful gift of Traci.

We've received an outpouring of so much love for Traci. I will try to get to everyone's site and leave a flower/token for at least one of their loved ones. However, there are so many of you, it will take me a while.

Sharon (Traci's mom)
