We will need the block and plot numbers. The cemetery is HUGE and the cemetery staff is less than helpful. It has gotten so frustrating for the volunteers to get the grave locations from those people that most of us have quit trying. Family members can contact the cemetery office and 'sometimes" have better luck. If you get the location, you can add it to the memorial or message it to me on Find A Grave

just load the Find A Grave program, and search for the stone that you want, then print.

No, I'm not related to Henry Simon. I'm a member of the Mart Cemetery Assn. I would like to see the entries at findagrave as close to our list, as possible. After some of the old burials have been listed on findagrave, we are getting calls wanting to know where they are buried. If they are not on our list, we don't know. We already have over 100 buried in the cemetery with no markers. And, I'm sure there are many buried there that we don't even know about. The past Board members didn't make a list of burials, like they should have. We're trying our best to help our genealogists.

No problem. I had to go to Rolling Hills today anyway, so I put up photos on Rev Wesley C. Ellis' and Willie Hartman Sims' memorials. Next time I go out there, I'll get some more of your Rolling Hill memorial photos.

|Susan Lundin Smith||Emma Loftus photo request|
You are receiving this message because you have submitted a photo request for the above named person(s). I wanted to let you know that I will be traveling to that area from Dallas during the first week of June and I would be able to get the requested photo(s) for you. I do need some help from you tho. While I am in the Chicago area, I intend to get as many names off the list for Evergreen Cemetery as possible. The list is growing every day and is now at 263 requests! Evergreen Cemetery is near and dear to my heart as I have several of my own family members there. If you would please call the cemetery office and obtain the burial plot locations and send them to me, I will for sure get them for you when I go there in June. If everyone could get me the locations I could really get a lot of requests done but I can't do it alone! The office number for Evergreen Cemetery is 708-422-9051. You can leave me a public message with the information, or you may email me at email@example.com Please be sure to reference the requested names. Thank you!

This memorial has been posted in the incorrect church cemetery. This is my home church. There are two Concord Baptist Churches in Chase City, located almost adjoining each other.
Your memorial should have been posted in the following Concord Baptist Church: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=cr&CRid=2348827&CScn=concord+baptist&CScntry=4&CSst=48&
Please make the proper correction. Thanks.

Actually, in checking, I have duplicates of all 4 of them, James, his sister and her 2 kids, I will transfer them to you and you can figure out which you want to keep. Mine were a little earlier, but yours have a lot more info....I remember when this happened, June Stanfield was the section secretary in Adjustments in 1993 when I worked there, so we all kept up with the case.

You are welcome. I am sorry the fence is in bad repair. Next time I go out I will take a photo from a different angle so it looks nicer. I don't know why I didn't do that to begin with.

You have requested a photo from Evergreen Cemetery. If you contact the cemetery for the grave location I will look for the headstone in the next 2 weeks. Almost everyone there answering the phone is willing to help over the phone. If they tell you that you would need to come in to get a map anyway, let them know you have someone locally who has the maps. I have the maps of the cemetery so this could be easy. Their number is 708-422-9051. You can message me and I can try to get out there in the next 2-3 weeks.

Thank you for any information you are able to provide in regards to entries from the Afro American Historical and Genealogical Society Central California. "Echo's from the grave" is a new project for our organization and we have just began our entries. (2013) If we duplicate a entry should we remove it or add that it is a duplication. We want to handle our entries the correct way. Your input is needed and welcomed. Again Thank you Diana Bruton. AAHGSCC.
